Times have finally changed. Here I stand today, and that lifestyle is no longer an option in my mind. I have another human being to raise, nurture and take care of, and I am now in better shape mentally and physically then I was before I had my son. My routine consists of spending roughly an hour and a half in the gym at the MOST, and some weeks I only make it two or three times, and I am perfectly fine with that. I get to take my beautiful son with me to the gym and he plays with friends right next to me while I workout to FEEL good. It gives me energy, makes me happy and gets my endorphins running so I can keep up with him through the day. We eat out together and laugh and make memories. We cook good, healthy meals at home. I can teach him good habits while living by them myself.
I make my food choices an enjoyable part of my life – they’re no longer consuming me and my mental state. I eat all kinds of foods such as vegetables, whole food, lean proteins, fruits but snacks and anything I’m craving in moderation. I don’t stress about the gym, making every cardio session and revolving my days around my meals. I feel free to enjoy my life and my son fully – with no regrets. If you told me that I could live this way years ago I would have never believed you.
My nutrition and extreme exercise routine was not the only thing that was unhealthy for me. The amount of fat burners, caffeine and pre-workouts I was consuming scares me to think about. My supplement intake came to an abrupt stop when I made my lifestyle change, and I had never cared more about what I was putting into my body until I was carrying my son. I was searching high and low for something I could take as far as protein and muscle recovery while I was growing my son, as well as being cleared for when I was breastfeeding. At the same time…I found AMPD Nutrition: all-natural supplement line designed and dosed specifically women. I read about their vegan-friendly, non-GMO, and caffeine-free supplements and knew the company would fit right into my lifestyle. AMPD was just another reassurance that I was reaching my health and fitness goals the right way. I no longer had to be deprived from pre-workouts and supplements – I could take them and they could actually BENEFIT my body.
As I am now a mother, it means even more to me to be in good shape. I want to lead by example and feel confident and beautiful myself. I don’t want to use my child as an excuse – he’s my reason WHY I do everything that I do. He’s the reason why I dug a little deeper and found happiness in what I fell in love with seven years ago. He’s the reason why I chose to live a healthier lifestyle that will get passed onto him and his children. My mission will always be to keep us healthy and running on a full tank.
I always dreamed about having my son and then getting back to the best shape of my life, and here I am – working towards that. Between my new outlook on health and fitness, and my support from AMPD Nutrition, I am well on my way. It took longer than I wished for, but now that I am living my best life, I wouldn’t take any of it back. I can share my story with young women and men and hope that they will dig a little deeper, analyze a little more thorough about the routine they’re living by and what their life really consists of. Is it a part of your life that betters you or is it a part of your life that is draining you and sucking the life out of you? If the answer is the latter, let my story encourage you to find a healthier outlook on your fitness goals.
I only hope to open up and share these things so that I can save someone from taking as long as it did for me to turn it around. From my daily workouts, to the food that I eat, the supplements I consume, and the confidence they all give me, I wouldn’t change a thing. I don’t miss out on family gatherings, I don’t miss out on the ice cream I’m craving and later binge because I feel so deprived, and I don’t miss out on living a “normal” life. Fitness is a part of my life that betters me. It should be for you, too.
