Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie

This creamy, delicious strawberry cheesecake smoothie is not only quick and convenient to make, it will also leave your skin glowing! It’s extremely nutrient rich and contains marine collagen, which has wonderful health benefits especially for skin elasticity. 

Strawberry cheesecake has to be one of my favorite flavors of all time. I honestly have never met anyone yet who has not been a fan of a good slice of cheesecake. It serves well as a delicious party dessert for any occasion, and you can count on me to partake in any type of cheesecake presented in front of me. I especially love making a homemade strawberry topping in the summertime when strawberries are in season. It is absolutely divine!

I finally created a way to enjoy one of my favorite desserts daily that is extremely healthy along with added collagen to slow down my skin’s aging process. It’s packed full of essential nutrients that support my active lifestyle and make my skin radiant! You will not be disappointed with this creamy strawberry cheesecake smoothie.

Skin and Nutrition 

Glowing, smooth, and wrinkle-free skin is what we all dream of. Some of us are even willing to go to great lengths to achieve this. As we age, our skin naturally loses its strength and elasticity, our collagen production starts to decrease, and we eventually start to gain a few more lines than we had hoped. Don’t get me wrong; I think a face full of wrinkles shares a whole lifetime of smiles and memories. If there is a natural way to prolong the aging process, then I am absolutely going to give it a try.

Well, I have great news! There is a way, and it is a lot less expensive than some of the treatments out there – not to mention safer too. The foods we consume greatly impact our entire body, mostly affecting our skin. Food is loaded with micronutrients that all have special jobs within our body to help it function efficiently. As we age, our collagen production starts to decrease, and we can really benefit from supplementing to help ensure we are making adequate amounts.

Micronutrients, vitamins and minerals, along with antioxidants help reduce and repair oxidative damage that happens from being exposed to too much sunlight, free radicals, and environmental stresses. Our skin is our first barrier of protection against the damages of the sun, pathogens, and infection when we receive an injury. What is Marine Collagen?

Collagen is one of the most abundant proteins in your body. It is found in your bones, muscles, skin, blood, tendons, and digestive system. It even gives your skin its natural glow, as it makes up about 70% of your skin’s protein content. As collagen production decreases, women end up losing about 1% with each year of age, which causes an extreme drop by menopause. It eventually causes thinner and less elastic skin. 

There are several different types of collagen, each targeting different tissues. Marine collagen is a Type I collagen which is primarily found in the structure of skin. It helps improve the elasticity and firmness by supporting the body’s natural production. It is also known to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while also slowing down the aging process over time. It also enters the blood stream faster than any other type of collagen due to its bioavailability.

Cashews

They are high in fatty acids which help reduce high cholesterol and greatly lowers the risk of heart disease and stroke. They are originally from Brazil and have a light delicate flavor. Cashews are also high in copper which plays a huge role in collagen maintenance. Copper’s role in collagen production is linked to the enzyme lysl oxidase, making copper a co-factor to the enzyme’s activity level. Lysl oxidase helps hold tissue’s structure, and in a copper deficiency, its production is greatly impacted. Cashews are a great food to pair with collagen supplements as it helps boosts the body’s natural collagen production. 

Strawberries

Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits, especially straight from the patch in the summer when they are in season. They are super sweet and juicy and have some amazing health benefits. They are super high in polyphenols that aid in heart disease prevention. Strawberries contain high amounts of antioxidants that help reduce oxidative stress from the environment. They are also high in essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamins C and A, along with high amounts of potassium which helps lower blood pressure. 

  

Coconut Milk

Coconut milk is a great alternative to dairy products for those who are lactose intolerant or have food allergies and intolerances. It has a mild sweet flavor and is thick enough to replace dairy milk in any shake!

Ingredients

Smoothie:

1 scoop AMPD Nutrition Pro Vanilla Protein

1 scoop AMPD Nutrition Marine Collagen

1 cup coconut milk 

2 pitted dates

½ cup raw cashews

4 fresh strawberries

1 tsp vanilla extract

 

Topping:

½ cup of animal crackers

Optional: 

Ice cubes

 

Instructions

Combine AMPD Nutrition Pro Vanilla, AMPD Nutrition Marine Collagen, coconut milk, pitted dates, raw cashews, and strawberries into a blender or Ninja. Add ice for a thicker consistency. Garnish with crushed animal crackers for extra flavor.
